Cheerful, little pompoms

It was time to brighten up outside my shed last weekend, so I popped along to my local garden centre and bought some lovely little plants for the pots I've collected over the years. My favourite has to be the ones which were hand-picked by my daughter who adores pink. These pompom-like daisies are called Bellis and are available in an array of sugary shades. What a cheery sight!

News....

as featured in a recent edition of the Cambridge Evening News...

"City centre store Breeze, which sells gifts and items for the home from its Trinity Street premises, has appointed Royston firm Little House PR to look after its media relations and PR activity...."

Sweet William

Please say hello to Sweet William, the new addition to Little House PR. William is a small statue who lives in my garden under a Greengage tree alongside the bird table. He loves to sit in the sun and watch what’s going on in the garden, so keep a look out for his latest sights.

Wellie Boots at the ready, it's grow your own time!

It's grow your own season, so I've been to the garden centre and have armed myself with five large bags of manure and a selection of fruit and veg ready to sow. All I need now is for the children to go to sleep early so I can make a start before the sun sets.

I've just picked the last of our purple and white stem Broccoli which was delicious with the Chicken Pie I ate for supper last night. With those out of the way I can now sow the potatoes, onions, rhubarb and parsnips. I have five little strawberry plants to sow too, but I'm yet to decide on where to put them. I had hanging baskets last year which worked a treat, but I thought I'd try something different this summer, but can't decide between the vegetable patch alongside the raspberry canes, or buying a sweet, little strawberry pot for the patio.

Any ideas would be gratefully received, please email me at nina@littlehousepr.co.uk

If you're keen to eat some local food, pop along to Bury Lane Farm Shop who now have fresh asparagus for sale. Don't forget to pick up a seasonal recipe card before you leave too.

On another note, my website www.littlehousepr.co.uk is almost ready and is looking fab thanks to Dan and Julia at Mack and Me. I'll keep you posted!

Bye for now.

Bumblebees & kitchens

I'm surrounded by blossom today, so much so that my daughter actually thought it was snowing over the weekend. The Greengage tree, which underwent some heavy pruning a few years ago is hanging its blossom filled branches over the shed, and its beautiful, sweet smelling scent is attracting the busy Bumblebees. A few of them have even come in to say hello, in fact here's one now!

Speaking of Bees, I've just started working with Barbara White at Newnham Kitchens near Ashwell. She offers a wonderful choice of kitchens - I'm quite interested in having the option of colour matching the cabinets to Nigella's duck egg blue. Why not pop along to have a look for yourself - Newnham Kitchens, Hall Barn, Ashwell Road, Herts SG7 5JX www.newnhamkitchens.co.uk

Breeze in Cambridge appoints Little House PR

Breeze, which offers attractive gifts and ingenious items for the home in the heart of Cambridge on Trinity Street and via its online website www.breeze.uk.com, has appointed Little House PR.

We were chosen by Breeze owner Anne Bannell, despite also being contacted by a number of Cambridge-based agencies. Anne says: “We have chosen to work with Little House PR as we feel that it is a likeminded company which is ideally set up to support our business, and given Nina Lancaster’s past experience, will also offer us the best PR opportunities.”.

Nina says: “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Breeze as I am already a huge fan of the shop. Breeze perfectly illustrates the type of local businesses I’m keen to work with and to have such a wide variety of products to promote, especially for the busy summer party and wedding season, I can’t wait to start.
